An online workshop for artists, event producers, and organizers on how to stop harassment and make our spaces safer
About this event
Station North Arts District presents an online workshop, Creating Safer Spaces, with Baltimore’s own Shawna Potter, lead singer of the band War on Women and author of Making Spaces Safer, a clear and concise guide for shutting down harassers in public spaces of all sorts.
This workshop will focus on:
Tangible tools & skills that artists, event producers, bookers, and audience members can start using right now to make the spaces we move in safer for marginalized people
How to make a plan for your venue / space / event to prevent violence and harassment and interrupt it if it happens
How to reduce harm and center victims when responding to conflict
Date / Time: Thursday, October 7, 2:00 - 4:00PM
Location: Online via Zoom. You will receive a link to join before the session starts
For more info about Shawna Potter, check out her website and her book, Making Spaces Safer
While universally relevant, this workshop is especially for folks who organize or produce events or work in Station North Arts District. Registration is first come first served. If there is enough interest, we hope to offer a follow up workshop later this year.
This workshop is sponsored by Station North Arts District, a proud program of the Central Baltimore Partnership.
